As a graphic designer for the University of Hawaii Bookstore, I designed a various of advertising materials which include but not limited to book-signing posters, newspaper ads, bookmarks, coupons, sale signs and window display. The following are some of my favorite works.
Most of my works at UH favor a harmonious design with a well balance of compositions and colors. Warm tone with a bit of gradients were always my top choices. For every design, our team first understand the message the author wants to convey, then we looked for the best graphics that represent the mood and theme going to be presented. We often draw our own graphic background or sometimes take pictures with model to provide the photography that we need.
Typography is what sets a professional apart. Skills like kerning and leading are essentials. During the completion BFA design program, I typeset one of the chapter 7 of The Seven Champions of Typography for the typography class.
Located next to the Honolulu International Airport, Mapunapuna is an industrial area that holds a great deal of potential. A booklet along with 3 posters were designed to address the idea of how public and private space is defined.
Each candidate advocate his/her own identity in the design industry with advertising stationary includes business logo, business cards, postcard, thank-you card, contract forms, envelopes and stickers.
