A typography solution that put cooking recipes on a paper bracelet.
The cooking bracelet is an typography project that tap into usability as well as Art. As students, we were asked to innovate a recipe book with creativity. Other students used different approaches, as I grew interest into the idea of having a recipe that’s printed on a bracelet, and I called it the cooking bracelet. The project served as an exercise of illustration skills, I drew the instructions with Adobe Illustrator. Besides that, as a typographer, I also understood the necessity to layer the information by using different texts. We are the designers that manage the layer of information which help with interpretation. Although the usability is questionable, it is an art project that shows how typography are involved in our daily life.
Typography is what sets a professional apart. Skills like kerning and leading are essentials. During the completion BFA design program, I typeset one of the chapter 7 of The Seven Champions of Typography for the typography class.
