I like oil painting since it always carries an elegance with it. So did the pastel pairings, the thick opaque paints give a heavier weight to the paintings which makes the color more solid and vivid. As I pointed out in other life paintings (using different kinds of medium), painting gives us an moment to stop and observe. It relaxes our minds and makes us focus on the color and the shape at the moment. It’s an exercise to challenge our perception, sometimes what you think you see may not be what you see. The exercise is to give an chance to ourselves to empty our mind, release our prejudice and to “see” what’s there.
